Dreams!

Romie woke up this morning and ran to the back window as fast as she could.  She pulled up the blinds and kept looking around.  Finally she said "Mom where are all the elephants?"  I replied "what elephants?"  She said "the elephants and the warthogs, Mom!"  I looked at her sleepy little eyes and asked if she had a dream about the elephants and warthogs.  After a couple seconds of thinking she agreed that it was a dream.  Papaw was in the dream too.  She said Papaw was killing the warthogs because they were poking and biting everybody. Good thing Papaw knew how to handle those warthogs.  I think the best part of all of this is that Romie grabbed her favorite pink dress this morning and put it on before running out of her room to find the elephants. Some things have priority you know!  I love hearing their funny little dreams.  I have decided to post their dreams as they tell me about them.  You never know what will come true!!

Whew!

All caught up!!!  I have now learned a lesson and will keep my blog updated as we go.  I hope that everyone enjoys the pictures I have finally posted.  See you soon.

Busy Saturday

We got up early Saturday in Cincinnati to make it home by 11:15am  for Addie's last soccer game.  Here are a few pictures of the kids and of Addie's last game.  She is already asking about next season!

Newport Aquarium

The second day of our trip included our trip to the Newport Aquarium.  Wow what an experience.  It had just about everything. Romie and I agree that our favorites were the different types of frogs they had.  I never knew there were so many types.  Devin and Addie loved the sharks! I know not a surprise.  Here are some pictures of our day at the aquarium.  The kids have already asked if we could go back soon and I would have to second that.  I can see another trip to Cincinnati in our future.  After the aquarium we went to Ikea which is excited only to me but everyone else survived.  We even had dinner at Ikea that night.  A bonus for Devin was that kids eat free on Fridays.  What a deal!  The next morning we had to get up and get going early so that we could make it home for Addie's last soccer game.  Nobody was ready to come back home yet.  I guess that means this trip was a success.

The BIG Zoo

May 19, 2011

As a little gift to Addie we took a two day trip to Cincinnati.  We went to the Cincinnati Zoo, which Romie calls the "Big Zoo", and then to the Newport Aquarium.  We stayed at a hotel for two nights which was also exciting because there was a pool.  We love the Cincinnati Zoo and we were all excited to go back and see all the animals we don't get to see at our Indy Zoo.  The girls each had a map and a list in their heads of what animals they would like to see.  The girls both liked the lions the best because they looked like Simba and Mufasa.  Devin and I both enjoyed watching the monkeys and gorillas. Kind of reminded of us of home I think.  Here are some pictures of our day at the BIG zoo.

Addie's Graduation

Wow where has all the time gone!!  It seems like just yesterday I was dropping her off at the preschool door for the first time and now she is ready for kindergarten. They had a wonderful little ceremony for the kids and Addie was beaming with pride.  I really struggled holding back the tears but I think I had so many leading up to it I was able to handle it.  Addie was also having a hard time with her emotions.  She was sad to be leaving her friends and teachers behind.  Addie has had the same great teachers for the past three years and they will be missed by all of us.  Now it is on to the next chapter for Addie and she is more than ready.  My baby is growing up too fast. Boohoo!
