Nature

The girls and I were watching a bird on the deck yesterday and saw a really neat thing occur.  At first we couldn't tell what kind of bird it was but quickly realized it was a baby robin when mommy robin came over to feed the baby a worm.  I don't know who was more excited to see that happen the girls or myself.  It is so neat to see nature at work.  The first two pictures were taken outside so they are clear but the last two are taken from behind a window so they are not as clear.  We laughed because the baby bird must have been really hungry since mommy robin fed him two worms.

Grandpa Benz's Birthday

We had Devin's side of the family over a couple weeks ago to celebrate Grandpa Benz's 91st Birthday.  It was nice seeing everyone.  Grandpa Benz was surprised that everyone was here.  He, of course, brought his famous shrimp cocktail.  Nobody makes a shrimp cocktail like Grandpa Benz.

Backyard Friends

Grandma Joyce brought the kids some new friends for the backyard.  She hand painted ceramic figurines of Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs and the kids loved them.  Devin had the girls close their eyes each time he gave them a new dwarf to open.  It was cute and they knew the names of all of them.  Since the weather has been so crazy we haven't put them out yet but when it warms up they will get a new home outside.

Trip to the Zoo

We hit the zoo last Friday for one of our record breaking trips through.  We were in and out within an hour and everyone still left happy.  Here are some pictures from our quick trip.

Papaw's Outfit

Her are some pictures of Sully wearing an outfit that belonged to my dad when he was Sully's age.  We were just trying it on him for these pictures but I hope when the weather is a little nicer put it back on him for some nicer pictures.

I was going through some pictures and saw this one that I took last week. These girls are crazy.  Romie actually sat like that while waiting her turn on the iPad.  Didn't seem to bother Addie.

Issues

This morning Romie woke up with a stuffy nose again and I asked her if she was sick.  She replied no she wasn't sick she just had issues.  I asked her what her issues were.  She said issues are when your nose is stuffy and you have to blow it all out.  I would have to agree those are issues.  I love the mind of my four year old.  Always coming up with something new.

Opening Games for the Spring 2012 Season

Addie and Romie started their Spring soccer season off on a great note this year.  Addie was happy to be back out on the field and Romie was excited to be on her very own team.  Addie scored 3 goals and was a team captain.  Romie stayed on the field the entire game even though it was freezing that morning.  We are very proud of both of them and are excited for the rest of the season.  More pictures and updates to come.
