Soccer Practice

Addie has started soccer and with the games you have practice.  We have been taking the kids to practice with us because the weather has been so great.  It is nice to sit outside and enjoy it while the kids run around.  Towards the end of practice Romie and Sully get restless so we took some pictures to waste time.  Sometimes pictures like these turn out to be my favorites.  Here are a few.
Sullivan the ham!  He was really posing.

Big Romie

Addie is the defender in yellow.  I love the way the sky looks in this picture.

Practce is over equals happy girl.  Bring on the games.

Big Romie is Ready for Big PreK

Romie started PreK on Monday!  I can't believe it.  What happened to my little Romie?  She has been waiting on PreK all summer.  She was beyond ready.  She thinks she is big stuff and has asked us to start calling her "Big Romie" rather than just Romie again.  She loves to talk about how she is in the big kid class this year at Bradley.  So the word that Romie would use to describe her year would most definitely be BIG!  I am so proud of her.

Sully was feeling left out.  He jacked the picture.

Romie sat in the car waiting patiently.

She actually waved good-bye.

Romie and Soph walked into the first day of PreK holding hands.  Precious!

Romie Bear

We had a cookout over the past weekend and most of the family was able to make it.  The kids always enjoy themselves so much when the cousins get together.  During the cookout Addie, Brooke, and Grandma Peggy made a big "scary" bear to scare all the other cousins.  The got Romie to wear the bear costumes.  This was a sight.  It was so funny listening to Romie's little growl coming from under the paper.  I mean scary!
It might be a giveaway that it is Romie behind the mask due to the horses laying by the chair.

Dog Days at the Park

We took the kids down to Dog Days at Riley park over the weekend.  It was nice but it made the kids want a new dog even more.  I kind of felt the same way myself.

My 34th Birthday

I really don't have any pictures to share but I have to document what a great birthday I had this year.  Devin surprised me with a big family dinner at PF Changs.  I had no idea that he had planned such a big surprise.  It made me feel so loved that he would do that for me and me not find out.  That is pretty hard to do around here.  After dinner he took me over to grab some Cheesecake Factory cheesecake for dessert to go. The kids all had cards that they had picked out and made for me.  This is one of the best birthdays I have had.
Romie couldn't wait to give me her card first thing in the morning.  I think she had been awake about 5 minutes.  Her card was perfect.  Ha! Poor Addie was at school. She came straight home with a card for me too.  So sweet.

Romie's dresses

I love when Romie feels good in something she is wearing.  I think Romie feels good in any dress but when she ask me to take a picture it must be a good day.  I love this girl.
This day was all about the accessories.

This was all about the hair and makeup. Her straight hair makes her look so old.

Underpants

Since Sullivan is getting the hang of potty training we let him wear his underpants all day at home.  I am not brave enough to let him venture out in the underpants but he's getting there.
Enjoying Mickey in his Cars underpants!

Thumbs up with new car in hand! Good job Sullivan!!

My Little House Son

Here is my helper since the girls are starting back to school.  Addie was giving him tips on how to help Mommy.  Devin wasn't crazy about the apron.

My Big 1st Grader!!!

Addie started back to school on August 1st this year.  This is the first year that Greenfield has started their balanced schedule so school seemed to come fast.  Addie was a little nervous at first but after she found out a couple of her friends from Kindergarten were in class with her she seemed to feel better.  We also had a chance to meet her teacher and that worked out well also.  We are really excited about Addie's teacher this year.  I walked Addie into school the first day and she did great.  When I came to pick her up at the end of the day she was all smiles and has been just about everyday since.  She tells us that she really loves school and makes new friends daily.  Yea Addie!
Heading out to school.

Ice cream social before Meet You Teacher Night.

Romie said that Addie's bear was sad that Addie was at school. I asked Romie if she was and her answer was a simple "NO". I don't entirely believe that.

Big Romie's All Ears

We went for some last minute school shopping with Grandma Peggy the day before started for Addie and we ended doing something unplanned.  While going into Claire's to get Addie some back to school earrings Grandma Peggy suggested to Romie that she get her ears pierced and Romie agreed.  The plan was to get her ears pierced when she turned 5 but we figure that 4 years and 11 months was close enough.  Romie was such a big girl.  She even had it done one ear at a time.  I think that she was in so much shock that she didn't have enough time to register what she was doing.  There were no tears only a great big smile.  Yea Romie!
Ready!

Holding Grandma's hand!

I love her reaction.  She couldn't believe it!

Even Sully like Claire's

Ashie's Birthday Pool Party

Ashley had her birthday party Travis and Jenny's neighborhood pool again this year and we were so excited to go.  My girls were counting down the days for this all summer.  We always have such a good time at these pool parties.

Our British Buffet

In honor of the Olympics Opening Ceremonies we hosted a British Buffet.  One the menu was bangers 'n mash, fish 'n chips, mushy peas, peas and carrots, chutney, strawberry soup made by Brooke,  and my mom made the Queen's Dessert.  Even though our evening didn't end like we had planned I had fun planning and making food we wouldn't have normally had.  Devin liked the bangers and mash so much he asked to have it more often for dinner.  I will pass on the mushy peas.

Another Zoo Trip

With the temperatures cooling down a bit we were able to make another trip to the Zoo without melting.  The girls were happy to see the bear actually up and playing in the water rather than laying around on the rock.  We also fed the birds.  I was not that excited about it but the kids thought it was "AWESOME".  Great.
