Fort Harrison

During Fall Break we visited Fort Harrison for the first time.  We were so upset with ourselves that we have not visited Fort Harrison before.  We took the kids to ride a pony and didn't realize what else they had to offer.  Romie and Addie were so excited when we pulled up to the stables. I told them that they had to ride ponies not horses but to our surprise they were allowed to ride a horse.  That put the girls over the top!  Sully insisted that he ride a pony which was all right with me.  He had a choice of two ponies and picked the smallest. He prefers cars over large animals.  After their horseback riding we drove around the park and found an awesome playground.  We played on the playground for awhile then took a  hike up a large hill so that the kids could roll down it.  We can't wait to go back sometime it was a beautiful day.

Pumpkin Patch

Addie and Romie had their 2 week fall break this year and we loved every minute of it.  One of our first adventures was the pumpkin patch.  It was so chilly and windy on the day we chose to go but the kids didn't mind.  They had their new Angry Bird hats on that kept them very warm.  The kids picked out their pumpkins and we grabbed a bale of straw and some apples while we were there.

Birthday Festivities!

This has been a crazy month so far and part of the craziness involves celebrating two birthdays.  This year Devin(36) and Addie(7) had a total of 3 birthday parties.  Four parties if you count Addie's fun at school.  Here are some birthday fun photos that include all their parties and a visit from Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jim.

She has wanted this doll since Disney in June.

Everything Angry Birds!

Devin got a Hong Kong Phooey car!

A rare photo of mommy and the birthday girl!

A new Barbie

They invented a new game involving Angry Birds.  These girls got rowdy!

Daddy, Sully, and Grandma Joyce joined Romie on her Tuttle field trip.

Trying on her new outfit.  She is dying to wear it but or warm weather is making that hard.

NEW BEARS!!! She has hardly put them down since she got them.

ANGRY BIRDS!!!!!

The birthday king and his birthday princess!

Soccer Basketball Soccer Basketball

We had a very busy couple of months with balancing Addie's basketball and soccer schedules.  We are finally done with both for the season but already talking next season.  Addie really loved basketball and was pretty good at it for being her first season.  She enjoyed her undefeated team or as she called it "forever winning".  She will start another season of basketball in January when Upward Basketball starts at the church.  This time she will be playing with first and second graders only so the kids will be more her size and a little less intimidating.  Soccer season went fast.  She always gets a little tired mid season but really finished off her season with a bang.  In the last two games she scored 8 goals all together.  She was on a roll!  She says she is already for Spring but I think we will enjoy our winter break.  Devin had the pleasure of helping coach one of the last games and truly enjoyed it.  I think that he would love to coach her if time allowed.  It was fun and exhausting all at the same time.  I can't imagine what it will be like when all three kids are into something.  I hope we can ease into that slowly.
