Eat Your Spinach!

Look at those MUSCLES!!!!

I am not sold on the fact that researchers are reporting that cartoons are bad for children.  My girls have been obsessed with Popeye lately.  Every morning before school they get up a little early to catch a couple episodes before heading out the door.  Spinach is obviously in every episodes and the girls have quickly picked up on that. The other day they wanted a snack and requested SPINACH!!!  So I got them out some spinach leaves that I had washed and they munched on them until they were full.  They even claim that spinach is their new favorite food.  Take that researchers!!! Toot toot!!!

Tired? Not them!!

This is what it looks like in our bed just about every morning.  The girls find their way down at some point in the night and Sully comes down in the morning to snuggle in.  You can see that there is just not enough room for Mommy and Daddy in this space.  I think that we need to add some more square footage to our bed.  In the mean time we have aching backs and dark circles.  Yawn!!!

Movie Night

So cozy in our snuggies.

In your face!!  Okay they might be over exaggerating maybe.

Looking cool and watcing a movie. I call that Romie style.
We had family movie night on Friday and since Devin's new TV is 3D we decided to try it out.  We ordered Hoodwinked 2 off of UVerse movies which is actually something we had never seen before.  We got our snuggies out and a little treat (Halloween candy for the girls and a mixed drink for Devin). The 3D was great much better than I thought it would be and the glasses were comfortable for everyone.  I shared my glasses with Sully because a little too much 3D makes me ill. Sully stayed up for half of the movie but it was too much excitement for him.  We are going to have to get some more glasses so we can maybe host a movie night party sometime. That was fun.

Butler Turkey

Addie brought home a "naked" turkey to dress in her outfit of choice for a family project at school.  At first she was a little unsure of what she wanted to do.  I tried to give suggestions but they weren't what she had in mind.  She finally decided it was either going to be an old man or a Butler basketball player.  The ball player won out.  I am glad it did because I had no idea what to do to make an old man turkey.  We had a rainy day on Thursday so we decided to go ahead and get our turkey dressed.  Addie colored her turkey pasted on his clothes.  My job was to cut the clothes and ball out then write on his jersey.  She chose the number 11 because of the year we made it. That really impressed me that she would think of that.  I really need to give her more credit for what she is capable of.  All together I think we made a pretty good turkey.  Her dad was most impressed with her turkey and so proud that he has raised a little Bulldog fan.
She even insisted he have Nike tennis shoes!

Romie wanted her picture taken with Addie's work of art too.

Christmas Lists

Addie wore one of her new Dollie and Me outfits the other day she received for her birthday.  She was so excited to match her American Girl doll (also named Addie).  She has been really into dressing her doll lately and claims that is all she wants for Christmas.  We will see as we continue getting catalog after catalog before Christmas arrives.  I think Santa is going to have to veto her list is she keeps up with the American Girl theme.  I believe this is the first year she has not wanted Cars or Black and Decker tools.  Guess she is getting a little more girly with age.  Romie on the other hand is becoming quite the horse fanatic.  She claims that she wants only horses.  I am guessing that will change a little too with all the commercials she watches.  Sully seems to not have any specific thing in mind.  I am thinking cars will be his main gifts as he is really into his Matchbox cars.  My main goal is to not go overboard this year and stick to a Christmas budget.  I think I am just as bad as they are about getting excited for Christmas.  After all the pinning I have been doing on Pinterest I can't wait to get decorations out.  Scrooge, I mean Devin, hasn't picked up on any Christmas cheer.  I won't be holding my breath for that to happen any time soon. I give him maybe Christmas Eve and day.
Sully insisted he be in this picture. Everytime Addie would move he would move with her. It was cute.

Addie and Addie

Sully has taken over Addie's Cars slippers. They are one of his favorite items.

Romie and all of her critters. She would be happy with anything animal. She is my future vet.

LEAVES!!

Here are our 18 bags of leaves we raked over the past month.  Eighteen bags doesn't sound like a lot because it felt like we did a hundred.  The street department came through and picked them up for us but Devin had to haul them one by one to the curb. We will be doing some more yard work today but thankfully we only have a small amount of leaves remaining. Bring on Winter!

Halloween 2011

Last year they kept Greenfield beautiful with all their glitter this year they kept it safe with their super powers.  Addie was Wonder Woman, Romie was Bat Girl, and Sully was Superman and they  had a great time trick or treating around the neighborhood last night and then handing out candy.  My parents and grandma came over for a chilli dinner and to see the kids in their costumes then helped pass out candy.  The weather was dry but cool and was excellent for trick or treating.  After all the Halloween festivities were over they immediately wanted to make a list for Santa.  I guess with Halloween crossed off the calendar, all three better get ready for what's to come.
