Sully's First Craft

Sully started going to the 2 year old class at church instead of the 1 year old class.  In making this change they give the kids more of a  Sunday school class with a lesson and craft and not just a toys and snacks.  Here was Sully's first craft.  What a treasure!

Say No to Diapers!!!

Sully has been working on a project of his own this summer.  Things are not going as smoothly as I would like them but he is trying.  We started out for every poop and pee he would get a new Hot Wheels car but he mastered the peeing and realized how easy that was.  He was getting a lot of cars in a short amount of time so we changed the rules a bit.  For every five pees he gets a car and each poop is a car. Keep up the good work Sully.  He is becoming such a big guy.

Dancing Queen

Romie took a quick six week dance class this summer.  She went once a week for an hour to learn a little ballet and tap.  Romie seemed to enjoy her time in class but of course her favorite part was wearing the dance leotard and shoes.  She wasn't too interested in taking another class right away I think she is still holding out for horse riding classes.  I am not sure I am ready for that yet.

 

 

West Penn

Over the summer we have been getting Grandma Nita moved out of her house on West Pennsylvania Street and moved into her new apartment at the Manor.  While it is exciting and we are very happy for her to make this big move, it is also a little sad because of all the memories we have at her old house.  She moved into that house when my dad was just 2 years old.  There were still places on the walls of my dad's old room where he had hung certain things to play with.  When I was little her house was pink!  Nobody else I knew had a grandma with a pink house.   I couldn't imagine what Romie would think of that if they hadn't gotten new siding years back.  There were places on the door casing where my grandpa would rest his hands while chatting with us or just standing there watching a baseball game on tv.  I have so many memories of playing with my brothers and sister while our parents were at work.  Or even going to Grandma's when we were sick and she always had the same red, white, and blue quilt to lay over us.  I guess that as we got older we took her little old house for granted and what it meant to us.  I will miss making the same turn around at the end of Penn Street and hearing the same loud squeak her front door made when opening it up.  Even though I am very emotional about her move , I am so happy to have shared so many wonderful memories with my family in Grandma Nita's little house of Penn Street.

Disney Photo Pass $$$$

Here are some of the pictures from our Disney Photo Pass that Mickey Mouse made us purchase.  It is nice having them but I could have gone without breaking the bank to have them.  I know I will enjoy them for years to come and that is what is important. 

The Fair

It was that time of year again.  The Hancock County 4H Fair!  This was going on when we were having 100+ degree days but we found a good day that wasn't as hot.  We enjoyed the animals and some ice cream.  The kids are already planning next years's trip.

Busy Day

July 9

Devin and I were very brave on this day.  We decided to take the kids to the Children's Museum to see the Hot Wheels exhibit.  Obviously it was more exciting to Sully than the girls but there was plenty to see and do.  When Sully walked into the Hot Wheels area you would have thought he was in heaven. He couldn't believe his eyes.  The girls liked it but they were ready to move on.  Unfortunately Sully was not ready and showed it.  After melting down and practically being dragged away Sully moved on with us.  After finishing the museum Devin and the girls decided we were also going to enjoy the Zoo.  We had a little lunch at "the noodle place" then off to the Zoo we went.  We were exhausted after the Zoo but it was worth it.  We had a great family day.
