Newport

I realized I forgot to post pictures of our day at the Newport Aquarium.  My parents joined us on our day trip to Cincinnatti.  We had beautiful weather for our great day which made it even better.  After the aquarium we ate at Pompillios and shopped at IKEA.  We are going to have to schedule more day trips like that.  Fun!
Romie had a great day with Papaw and Mamaw.

Addie like to hitch a ride.

Sully was so funny watching the sharks swim overhead.

Sully hijacked Grandma's wheelchair.

PreHalloween

It is Pumpkin Time again! We had our annual pumpkin carving the other night and it went nicely.  I had planned on using the carving stencils we purchased but our pumpkins were too short and their skin was too thick.  So we went with Plan B and everyone designed their own.  The girls really enjoyed cleaning the pumpkins out and stuck around long enough to see their own finished.  Sully stayed away from the mess on his own which was great.  Here are a some photos of our mess.

Children of the Corn

I took some photos Sunday of the kids in front of the Shelbyville corn fields.  They didn't really cooperate like I hoped but snapped a couple cute pictures.  I can't wait until I finally sit down and learn how to get creative with my camera.  Unti then, I get what I get.  Additionally, I have some pictures of the kids riding with Papaw on the "tractor". After all, they were dressed in their John Deere best.

Slow and steady for Ro!
Papaw lets Addie drive.  Scares me to death!

She loves it!

Sully always thinks he is in a parade.

He loves his Pa!

Ro wouldn't cooperate but still turned out cute.

I made the mistake of telling Addie to watch out for coyotes. She wouldn't stop looking behind her.

Ro wasn't into the picture taking. She was just wanting to play.  Too many things to explore!

Wardrobe Malfunction

Romie woke up feeling her inner princess!  She got out her favorite pink dress and since it was so chilly today she added a pink leotard and tights.  After waking up from her nap she was a little desheveled. This is her laying on the floor with her tights hanging to her knees. She wasn't complaining. Sometimes it is tough being a princess.

Addie's Project

Addie is always bored lately so I have been trying to think of things that are fun to keep her busy.  Today we tried something that I saw on Pinterest.  We got a box and added lights to the top and Addie decorated the inside with pictures of American Girls and pictures that she had drawn. We didn't have a large box but we did have one that was just the right size for her dolls. We had fun doing this together and it was nice for her because both Sully and Ro were napping.  After we got done decorating our box we realized that our project was a success.  We called Papaw and he is working on getting some big refrigerator boxes for us to use next!  When the two little ones got up from their naps Addie was so excited to share the box with them.  Yea!
Pictures cut and pasted now ready to decorate. She put her robot in there to have a dance party!

Adding her own artistic touch.  A beach scene.

She thought the lights were "way cool"!

The little ones checking it out.

Wonder Woman

Addie has decided to scratch the Mother Gothel idea go with something a little more her style.  She saw a Wonder Woman costume the other day and had to have it.  This is a picture of her wearing most of her costume.  Both girls are excited about Halloween coming up.  I have had to put the costumes away so that they don't ruin them before it is time to wear them.  Poor Sully is still without his costume but I am sure it won't be a problem.

Men!

The kids were playing with their dolls the other day while we were doing some yard work and this is what I walked up on.  I always knew there was something I just didn't like about Flynn.  I then noticed who was the mastermind of the way the dolls were placed.  Man are we in trouble.

Dirty dog!

Pumpkin Picking

Addie was trying to figure out what was eating the pumpkins.

Addie liked every pumpkin she saw!

Addie felt she needed to assist Romie in her pumpkin picking .

Decisions decisions

Love this picture.
Since, as Addie says, it is Pumpkin Time we went out to Tuttles and picked up some pumpkins for carving.  Our plan was to also pick up some apples but they were done with apple picking for the season.  The girls insisted that they still pick a couple apples so we actually walked out of there with 60 cents worth of apples.  Three apples to be exact.  The girls were very excited to actually go out into the pumpkin patch this year and had a hard time deciding which pumpkin they would chose.  If it were up to them they would have picked a family of pumpkins each.  Instead we each got a large pumpkin and a small pumpkin.  Plenty!  We will carve the large pumpkins closer to Halloween so that we don't end up with rotten pumpkins.  Romie picked out Mickey Mouse and Friends carving patterns so I will post more pictures after the carving.  Fingers crossed they turn out!!
