Birthday Time

October 4th Devin and Addie celebrated their birthdays and we had lots of fun.  Addie wasn't happy that she had to go to school on her birthday but it worked out because she handed out gift bags to all of her classmates.  Devin had the week off and we were so happy to have him home with us.  After we picked Addie up form school we loaded the car up and headed to the zoo.  The girls were so excited because the night before Devin had promised them a ride on the train and a face painting.  I was shocked and they weren't going to forget it.  Unfortunately the train was getting maintenance but they did, however, ride the carousel instead.  I was worried that the painting booth would not be open but luckily she was there and ready for the girls. Addie chose a PINK dinosaur and Romie chose a kitten that looked like Marie.  Addie wore her paint until we made her remove it and Romie took hers off as soon as we got home.  When we returned home Addie opened her presents from us which Romie was having a hard time keeping a secret so the sooner she opened them the better.  She received some doll clothes, Bambi II DVD, a canopy bed for her AG doll, and a dolly and me outfit.  I think she was pretty excited.  It was a special dinner for them both too.  Devin's parents arrived that night and my parents came up for dinner.  Addie was so pleased to have both sets of grandparents eating with her that night.  Grandma Peggy also brought her the pig she has been talking about since July.  We had cake pops for dessert and then it was showers and off to bed.  It was a whirlwind kind of day and both Devin and Addie were happy. 

Saturday was the big birthday party. It is always a good time getting together with friends and family.  The kids went to bed exhausted.  Devin really enjoyed himself too and enjoyed having both families together. Another great year for the both of them.
