Little Man Big Shoes

This picture makes me smile!

Cold Season

It is that time of year again.  All three kids have successfully acquired their first colds of the season.  Addie cracks me up with her little remedies.  Romie woke up with her runny nose and was saying she had her "issues" again.  Sully is finally getting the hang of blowing his nose which helps a lot.  We are loaded up on hand soap and sanitizer.  Hoping to get through this year with less colds and bugs than last year.

Pioneer Craft Fair

We attended the Pioneer Craft Fair again this year in Shelbyville.  Devin had to work but the kids I went down to join my parents and Grandma Nita to see the sights.  It is a lot different now from when I was little but they had a few new things that kept the kids attention.  The most important things we saw this year were all the animals. They had horses, a donkey, sheep, a bunny, ducks, and chickens.  We even saw a stuffed beaver and a fox that is now a hat.  Papaw bought them root beer floats and we enjoyed fried biscuits with apple butter.  It was fun and I am sure we will do it again next Fall.
Romie remembered this guy from last year.  She couldn't wait to see this horse.

Papaw crossing party lines.  I laughed to myself when I saw him petting the donkey but I wasn't the only one thinking it .  Some guy came up to my dad and asked him if that was a political photo op . Ha!

Another horse.  Romie heaven.

Ye ye ye!  Slapped her like a bad date!

Sully and Grandma Nita playing with beads and rocks.

Grandma and Jo enjoying their floats.

Romie with Pa.  We were happy he was feeling good and walking.

School time.

Fox hat for the Turtle Girl

Romie was trying to figure out if you could get a fox dress.

Sully not sure about the dead animal on his head.

This is a very special picture.  My parents purchased a plaque in my grandparents name to go around the horse track at the fairgrounds.  When we went to look at it there was a horse training at the time.  I was trying to get the horse in the picture but this was the best I could get with my iphone.  Still very cool.

Cafeteria Food

The other night we went shopping and out to eat with Papaw and Grandma.  Grandma chose to go to Jonathon Bryd's Cafeteria which was so exciting for Addie.  She got her own tray to push down the line and picked out the food she wanted.  Her choices included a piece of fish (the size of her arm), mac and cheese, cookie pie, and a lemonade.  I loved this picture of her with all of her big girl choices.  She did a pretty good job eating but we did get a doggie bag.

Meet Our New Little Friends

Well the girls have gotten their way and we have new pets in our house.  For months now the girls have wanted a pet so badly the talk about it all the time.  We are not quite ready for a new puppy yet and a cat is out of the question.  They even tried guinea pigs but we compromised on fish.  We bought a small 1 gallon tank at Walmart and headed to Petsmart to pick out its inhabitants.  We ended up with 3 little guppies and a snail.  Addie named her fish (the tiniest) Cookie, Romie's is Bubbles, and Sully went with Ponyo.  Daddy helped name the snail Gary.  He was Goldie but they liked Daddy's idea better so they made the quick change.  So far so good and they have made it the first 24 hours in the Bennett house.  We will see how long this lasts.

Big Romie Turns 5!!

Big Romie is getting big!  I can't believe she is 5!  Like I say every year, it seems like just yesterday she arrived into our lives.  We had her big party on Saturday and a little tiny party on Monday.  Romie asked for HORSES for this birthday and she did receive.  She told us she had a great birthday this year and that is what is important.  Happy 5th Birthday Romie Benz!

My Little Stunner

Romie never ceases to amaze me with the outfits she puts together. I just know this child will be voted best dressed one of these days.

This one is pretty good.

Just as nice from the back.

Cowgirl Romie.  Getting ready for the Colts game.
She saw this dress from across the store. I think we might have to go back and get it . It is growing on me and she hasn't forgotten about it.

Addie's First Soccer Game

Another season of soccer has begun this Fall.  Addie is on the Blue Cheetahs this time around.  She is on an all girls team this time and I am very happy with that decision.  She has a lot of fun and competition this time which is what Addie loves about soccer.

Leaving the other team scratching their heads.  Ha!

Early morning games are rough on all of us!

Lunch with Addie

I get to eat lunch with Addie once a week at school. On this first trip we had McDonalds.  She was grinning from ear to ear.  Since I volunteer on days that I eat with her now she eats her packed lunch.  Not as much fun but she is happy to have me there and that makes me happy.  Addie has had anxiety this year when it comes to lunch so this helps out.  I hate that she was getting so upset at lunch time but now that we are getting the hang of school she is feeling better.

Addie's First Basketball Game

Addie has started her first season with the Little Cougar Basketball League.  She is now officially a Hoosier.  Devin thought a Bulldog would be a better fit but I am happy wearing red for Addie.  She still has a lot to learn but we are impressed with her motivation as a six year old.  Her team consists of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders.  You can tell a difference between the girls who have played before not only by skill but also by size.  Addie looks so tiny compared to some of her teammates.  She seems to really like it so I can see this being something we do again in Addie's future.  Go Hoosiers!

MakeUp and Movies

I am always trying to think of something to keep us busy on the weekends that Devin works.  This particular night the girls chose makeup and a movie.  Poor Sully didn't have much to say in this choice but I did make some chocolate chip cookies to make him happy too.  The girls had fun getting glammed up.  I feel bad that I don't have a lot of makeup to choose from but they made do with what I had.  The really wanted some really red lipstick like Grandma wears but a little lip gloss was all I had.  The movie the chose was Chimpanzee.  It was a cute movie and left them with a lot to talk about.  I like movies like that.

They wouldn't take a picture without a stuffed animal.  I guess it was all about props for this photoshoot.

Happy to be able to watch a movie with his big sisters.

Mmmmm!
