New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve 2012 was quiet at the Bennett house this year. We played a game of Life on the iPad and then watched Happy New Year, Charlie Brown. Sully fell asleep during our game and Romie was out before the end of the movie.  Afterwards, we gave up and went to bed too. This was the first time in years we did not stay awake and watch the New Year countdown and I am positive we will make up for it on 12-31-2013.

Overall, we had a great 2012. The kids are growing up fast and continuously keeping us busy. We are looking forward to 2013 and all the great opportunities it will bring.

Surgery Day

Ready to get those ears fixed!

Just coming out of recovery.  The doctor and nursing staff said he was very talkative in the recovery room but after a good dose of pain meds he was out for the count again.

Daddy getting a little cuddle time before work.

When we returned home he went straight into my bed, laid down for a movie and a good nap.

Today was surgery day for Mr. Sullivan. His first set of tubes had fallen out and his ears were filling with fluid again and it was necessary to place a second set of tubes to help drain the fluid.  Additionally, they removed his adenoids to potentially reduce fluid retention.  He was such a little trooper because he never cried and only a little grumpy since fluids were restricted prior to surgery.  After it was over, he woke up easily and we were able to go home after some Sprite was consumed.  After sleeping half the day and having a good nights sleep he is feeling great.

Snowy Days

The iPad has been a big hit in the Bennett house.

Sully liked the empty box to play in on this day.  We had to take it away when he wasn't looking.  Next year empty boxes might be on his Christmas list.

The Blue Gill ice sculpture on State St. here in Greenfield.

The snow plow driver is one of Devin's customers at Walgreens.  He stopped to say hello while plowing our street.  Sully was out helping and enjoyed meeting the guy who drives the "big truck".
Here are a few random pictures from our snowy vacation days.

Blizzard of 2012

Sully had to stand in the deep snow until he fell over and that was it for him.

Devin snow blowing his way out so that he could get ot work.

He really enjoys this.

Attempting a snow man but they would rather just roll around in the snow.

We enjoyed what the media called the Blizzard of 2012.  The kids are not that interested in spending too much time playing in the snow.  They prefer watching the snow fall and the little squirrels and bunnies jumping around in our backyard.

Christmas Visitors

Grandma and Grandpa stopped by on their Christmas day tour and brought Grandma Nita along with them.  They usually drive around every Christmas to see what Santa brought everyone. The kids were excited to show off their new toys.

We also had some visitors a few days after Christmas too.  Joni, Mike, and the boys stopped by for a quick visit.  It has been a year since we have spent time together and it was nice seeing how the kids have grown up.  Addie has been dying to have "champagne" with the boys since last year and we popped a bottle of "champagne" for them to toast with.

Bennett Brunch on Christmas Day

Aunt Jennifer helping Addie make her first dessert via Easy Bake Oven. Romie was clean up crew.

Time to bake.

Reading the directions before baking helps to prevent moments like these.
We had the Bennett/Cox family over on Christmas day for brunch.  This was the first time in years since the Bennett family has been together on Christmas Day.  Eventually we will have the entire Bennett family together on Christmas.

Christmas 2012!!

Santa was good to the Bennett kids again this year. Addie had asked for an Easy Bake oven, American Girl doll clothes, and the Brave movie.  Romie asked for an American Girl doll, movies, and a DS game. Sullivan asked for CARS!!  No one was disappointed.  Devin also decided to purchase a family gift this year and the kids unwrapped an iPad.  The kids were especially excited about that gift.  We had a great Christmas this year.

Another rare photo of Devin and I!

Brunch

Getting ready for Christmas chaos.

Sully got new planes, cars, and a Pa sweat shirt to name a few.

Grandma Nita in her new chair.

Romie made out good too.  A new Butterscotch Horse and a Lalaloopsey.

Dog walking set from American Girl. She also got the dog bath set and a boom box for her "love songs".

Grandma Nita learning how her new chair works!

Christmas chaos!

Devin says that the Geico commercial with the witch in the broom factory is about my mom.  So for one of his gifts she got him a broom right from the factory that was Peg tested and approved.  He might be happier than a witch in a broom factory.

Christmas excitement makes you very sleepy!

Sully looking like Pa in his sleep.

Sully was getting a lot of attention and didn't even know it!

Everyone looking like Pa.

The ladies had to try on the staches too.

That is one a crazy group.
Christmas Eve was a lot of fun this year.  Tons to eat and fun times are usually the norm when we all get together.  We started early this year so that we could get the kids home and asleep before Santa arrived.  We made it home just in time to watch the Polar Express and then off to bed.  There was no messing around at bedtime this night.  All three kids were asleep in record time.
